Statement of Beliefs
What we believe
THE UNCREATED ONE
We believe God the creator, the uncreated one and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed In three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
THE CREATED ONE
We believe that Humans are in the image and likeness of God. Humans are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by a nature and attitude of disobedience towards God called “sin”. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life. Sin if it remains in our lives will cause us to be eternally separated from God in Hell. We believe humans were created to exist forever, either in eternity with God or separated eternally from God.
THE PERFECT LETTER
The Bible is God’s word to us. It’s a collection of accounts and letters written by Human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit wrote it. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because God inspires it, it is the truth without any mixture of error.
AN OLD PROBLEM
By voluntary transgression Adam & Eve (mankind) fell into sin. His only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ. Repentance is a commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Christ. Through repentance we individually receive forgiveness of sins and appropriate salvation.
A NEW SOLUTION
Jesus Christ, fully man, fully God, shed his blood of Jesus on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is gift given through the grace of God through faith and not by works (your own efforts).
We believe in the baptism of full immersion in water, as a symbol to publicly confess one’s salvation, it symbolising the death, burial, resurrection of Christ. Salvation is not depended upon it, but Jesus commands we do it.
We believe in observing the Communion in remembrance of our Lord Jesus Christ’s death, with elements of bread and juice symbolising his body and blood.
A NEW FAMILY
We believe that the church is the Body of Christ made up believers in Heaven and on earth. We believe in the Five-Fold Ministry for the building up of the Body of Christ to maturity and attaining fullness in Christ. We believe in the Gifts of the Spirit for the common good for all, for the advancement of His kingdom and establishment of righteousness.
A NEW COMMANDMENT
We believe in the new commandment to love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and to love your neighbour as yourself. For in doing so we fulfil the whole law. We believe without love everything we do is futile and means nothing.
